Agios Dimitrios is Greece’s biggest lignite-fired power plant, based in the heart of the Western Macedonia lignite fields.
Agios Dimitrios power station is a five-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,595 MW. The first four units are subcritical and 300-310 MW each, completed between 1984 and 1986. The fifth unit is a 375 MW supercritical unit, completed in 1997.
ILVIEF has designed the new Electrostatic Precipitators and upgraded the existing ones of unit II of Agios Dimitrios power plant, 300 MW each.
